Comprehensive Care for Citizens

I think this is a tricky task. I dont think that the government needs to provide faciliated comprehensive care to its citzens at the cost of the nation. I beleive that each citizen should be able to have healthcare but not a handout.

I think when the governement steps in and takes care of its citizens it takes aways the pride and initiative of a democracy.

Below is a link for an article that discusses why welfare doesnt work:

  1. This review I chose to read the blog of Beth Martinez. Her site can be seen at: http://bethpsc1010.blogspot.com/2011/04/comprehensive-care-for-citizens.html . I read this week’s post and browsed around her site to see what I thought some strengths and weaknesses were. As I browsed her site, I will detail in my next paragraph the things I think she did very well, and those things that can always be improved when anyone is trying to run a blog.
First and foremost, I like the use of articles she has in her post. She doesn’t just past links, she actually creates and word or phrase that link the user to the article. She uses good pictures well, and I can see that her color of the text is to be red, white, and blue and very patriotic. Even though her posts are usually very short, she still gets her point across and expresses her opinions, which is something that I have seen lack in many of the student blogs. I also am a fan of the “Freedom isn’t Free” poster she has at the top of her page.
The page is simply, although it might be a little too simple. The white background and the highlighted text is actually not easy on the eyes. It just needs a little more work on the site itself to give it more of a personal feel to the reader from the author. Another thing I might change is writing more about the topic, and really getting into how you perceive the weekly topic; it is almost like her posts are on a facebook wall or twitter. Mostly, I feel the layout is just very basic and could use a personal touch.
All in all, I liked her message in her blog. She may have been short, but again, she included her own personal thoughts, but I would like to see her dive more into her posts and really get more into what she is writing about. Overall, the site layout needs some work, but it is a great start for a political blog!
